Book Description: Paul Frankel worked for independent oil refining and marketing companies and Manchester Oil Refineries before setting up his own consultancy company, Petroleum Economics Limited, in 1955. He lectured widely on the economics of the oil industry both on an academic and commercial basis. To celebrate his 85th birthday and his formal withdrawal from the oil industry, with which he has been associated for over 60 years, this book brings together a selection of his writings. The text will enable the reader to trace the development of Frankel's thought in response to the enormous changes that have taken place in the world oil industry since he first expounded his theories on petroleum economics in "Essentials of Petroleum", published in 1946 and reprinted in an abridged form in this collection.
