Schuster Atlas of Gastrointestinal Motility in Health and Disease, Second Edition, is organ-centered and is divided into two major parts. The first part deals with basic physiology of the gastrointestinal tract with an emphasis on neural and smooth muscle physiology. In the second part, each chapter within seven separate sections, begins with a description of normal physiology and recording techniques for a specific organ, followed by a clinical discussion of the pathophysiology and motility tests pertinent to that particular organ system.
