Art: First Year, 1992-93: Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 - A Report by H.M.Inspectorate (Implementation of the Curricular Requirements of the Education Reform Act)
Author:
Great Britain: Office for Standards in Education
Book Description: This report reveals that standards of achievement in art at Key Stage 1 were satisfactory or better in two thirds of the lessons. In Key Stage 2 standards were less satisfactory than in Key Stage 1. The majority of the primary teachers were working hard to introduce the National Curriculum Order for art, but their limited experience in using a wide range of art materials and their lack of knowledge of the subject restricted the progress of many pupils. At Key Stage 3 standards were generally satisfactory and were highest at Year 7.
