Great Britain: Office for Standards in Education
Book Description: This report assesses the standards of geography achieved at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. In the primary schools the standards achieved in about two-thirds of the lessons were satisfactory or better. At both Key Stages 1 and 2 the work was not sufficiently balanced between Attainment Targets, with too little emphasis given to human and environmental geography. At Key Stage 3 both the standards of achievement and the quality of teaching were satisfactory or better in over 80 per cent of the lessons, with 33 per cent being good or very good.
