Great Britain: Office for Standards in Education
Book Description: This report assesses the standards achieved in technology at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. HMI found that teachers worked hard to make sense of a subject order which most found difficult to interpret and teach as part of a balanced programme, which made progressively greater demands on pupils. Especially at Key Stages 2 and 3, few of the teachers had sufficient expertise to teach either Design and Technology or Information Technology to the higher levels of attainment. But the percentage of D&T lessons that were satisfactory or better was 77 in Key Stage 1, and 65 in Key Stages 2 and 3.
