Book Description:
The grant maintained sector has grown at an accelerating pace during the years 1989-92 and the findings in this report should be seen in the light of its newness, rapid growth and composition. The report idenfifies the main factors which affect standards and quality of education and it also looks briefly at the local impact of grant maintained schools. Generally, they were seen to be adapting well to the new framework within which they operate and to be attracting increasing numbers of pupils. Examination results are on a par with national figures.
