CampusBooks.com Celebrates Earth Day with a Green Scholarship
San Diego, CA - April 22, 2009 - In recognition of Earth
Day 2009, CampusBooks.com and Beans
for Books have teamed up to offer today's college students,
members of the Green Generation, the opportunity to win a semester's worth of
free textbooks for expressing themselves on the subject of being green.
Both CampusBooks.com and Beans
for Books provide free services that make textbooks more
affordable (via scholarships, grants, and inexpensive learning materials). With
the common goal of helping college students afford the textbooks they need, as
well as a shared commitment to the environment, the organizations have
partnered in the creation of the Being
Green 2009 Scholarship.
All currently enrolled college students are eligible to
register for the Being Green 2009
Scholarship. Participants need only meet eligibility requirements, register online, and answer the
question "Being Green: What Does it Mean?" Students may submit their
answers by uploading their essays on the CampusBooks.com
scholarship webpage or in video format via the CampusBooks.com YouTube Channel. All entries are submitted paperlessly and
harness the power of technology to reduce consumption of resources.
Awards also emphasize environmental sensitivity. One grand-prize
winner will receive a free semester's worth of textbooks (up
to $500) and three runners-up will each receive a $100 textbooks scholarship.
One random entrant will receive an Amazon Kindle 2 Digital Reader. All books
for the winners will be acquired by Beans for Books and an emphasis will be placed on acquiring money-saving environmentally
responsible used textbooks and eBooks whenever available.
The Being Green 2009
Scholarship runs from Earth Day, April 22, 2009 through July 31, 2009. Winners will be selected by the Beans
for Books scholarship experts by 09/30/09 and notified
by email or post by 10/15/09.
