Seller Comments: First edition. Small quarto. Stapled illustrated wrappers. Dampstain along the edges of the wrappers, about very good. Inscribed by the author to Piri Thomas and his wife Betty Elder Thomas, an activist attorney who fought for women's rights: "Por Piri y Betty, Unidad y Lucha. Amiri Baraka 1981" ["For Piri and Betty. Unity and Struggle"]. Piri Thomas was of Afro-Latino descent, born in New York to a Puerto Rican mother and Cuban father, and lived in Spanish Harlem. His autobiography of that experience, *Down These Mean Streets* was a bestseller. A nice association. Very Good Availability: Ships 2-3 days |
